Our New Championship Classic Staunton Chess set is an exact reproduction of the traditional European/German Pattern Chessmen that has been used at every major International Chess event for the past 10 years. The prestigious list of tournaments that have used this pattern of Chessmen includes World Championships, FIDE Olympiads, Linares, Dortmund, Wijk Aan Zee and many more! Here is your chance to truly own the design of Chessmen used by the Champions! 
The design of choice for many of the world’s top Chess  players includes Levon Aronian, Tan Zhongyi, Garry Kasparov, Viswanathan Anand and Magnus Carlsen seen playing with this design set more than any other.

The Chess set has a 83mm (3.25") tall king and includes 2 Free Extra Queens. All the handcrafted Chess pieces are made from Real Wood, weighted for stability, have  luxurious billiard cloth base pads and a hand polished lacquer finish producing a beautiful lustre. This standard of Chess set has all of the features that an avid chess player and collector looks for in an original Staunton chess set. Also included is a master crafted Real Wood inlaid folding Chess Board/box combination made from Ringy Rosewood (Acacia Rhodoxylon) and Boxwood. The Insert is made of EP Foam, covered with luxurious billiard cloth and specially meant for protection of the Chess Pieces. Every Chess piece fits into its very own slot that has been made according to the shape of the chess pieces. The Chess board when fully open measures 41cm X 41cm (16" X 16") with a semi gloss finish, that provides a robust playing surface.

    We needed a gift for a special birthday and looked high and low for the right Chess set, which we found on the Chess Store website. When it arrived we were thrilled, beautifully crafted, and just perfect for what we were looking for! The Chess Store was easy to deal with and the delivery was on time and intact. Highly recommended.

    Bought this for my 29 year old son sight unseen but reviews on Line were favourable.
    He was so impressed and loved both the quality of the board and weight of the chess pieces.

    That's the response I received from my German exchange student after I gave him this set as a going home present. He has a small travel set, but absolutely loves his new set. Craftsmanship is beautiful.

    Excellent product and value for money

    I bought this to play chess with my nine and six year old Grandsons and I wanted a good quality set that could also be easily transported so they could manage it if when when they visited, rather than a separate board and pieces, and so to this end it is a perfect fit.
    It would be great if they could source a padded fabric or vinyl carry bag with handles or something similar to store / carry the set in when travelling.
